Shoutout to the cashier at Taco Bell who talked me into trying the Cheesy Gordita Crunch

Oh man, @joseph_murray8, I actually did cave and try it. Figured if the workers were that confident, who was I to argue? It was good, sure, but I swear the thing fell apart in my hands like it was designed to test my patience. Guess that's just the price of trusting someone who might be aiming for a promotion instead of a clean lap. Still better than my usual regret of getting a Crunchwrap that's 90% lettuce though, right?

Stop using coolant concentrate straight from the drum, it's ruining your tool life

I was reading in Cutting Tool Engineering a few months back that shops that don't check concentration can lose up to 30% of tool life just from running too rich. The article said refractometers are like a hundred bucks and can save you ten times that in carbide alone. Saw a coworker at a shop in Phoenix dump straight coolant in once and he swore it was fine til the foaming got so bad it overflowed onto the floor. It's wild how many guys think "more coolant" means "better cutting".

My grandma always said to add a pinch of salt to sweet doughs, and I finally understood why after my last batch of cinnamon rolls.

Ngl, I have absolutely cried over failed baking before too.

The week my foreman yelled at me for saving 40 man hours on a drywall job

Oh man, that's rough. Was the foreman mostly mad about losing the OT for the guys or did he take it as you going over his head? lol I've been in similar spots where you find a better way to do things and the old timer gets all defensive. It sucks when doing a good job makes you the bad guy with your own crew. Hope the PM at least had your back when the dust settled.

Changed my mind about those fancy reusable produce bags after seeing the numbers

Oh wow, I gotta be honest - I used to think the whole reusable bag thing was just a scam to make people feel guilty. I'd just toss my plastic bags in the trash without a SECOND thought. But hearing that 30 pounds statistic really hits DIFFERENT. A toddler's worth of plastic! That visual is gonna stick with me. I actually went out and bought some of those mesh bags yesterday after reading your post, and I'm already noticing how much more careful I am about what I grab. Those flimsy plastic produce bags always ripped on me anyway, so this feels like a REAL upgrade.
