Frozen chicken wings tasted better than fresh ones in the air fryer - tried it 3 times to be sure

My friend Karen tried it with barbecue wings from frozen at 375 for 30 minutes and she said they were almost too crispy, like they shattered when you bit them. I've been telling everyone to do frozen wings now, but my husband still insists on thawing them first and then they come out rubbery every time. We actually had a small argument about it last Sunday because he wanted to grill them instead and I had to explain the air fryer was the only way to go. So what's the magic number, are we all just agreeing frozen is the secret or is there something wrong with my fresh wing technique?

Refund policy at that local hardware store near downtown used to be a handshake

You totally nailed it @joel_young, I bet that's exactly what happened. I had the same thing happen last summer with a cordless drill I bought from a big box store 18 months prior, thing just stopped holding a charge. Walked in, told the guy at the returns desk, and he handed me a full gift card without even blinking. My husband was standing right there and we both looked at each other like, did that just happen? Makes you wonder if these places are just trying to beat Amazon at their own game now or if they finally realized loyalty pays off better than fighting over a 30 day window.

That time I triggered a silent alarm at a funeral home

That time I triggered a silent alarm at a funeral home" - yeah that's a special kind of awkward. I read somewhere that funeral homes have those alarms because of all the embalming chemicals and expensive equipment in the basement. Makes sense but still creepy. The director staring at you for 10 seconds probably thought you were a ghost or something. I bet he gets prank calls all the time too, people thinking they're clever calling funeral homes. Honestly, working in places where people are dead or dying just seems like a recipe for weird stories.

TIL about the 'missing step' in microwave popcorn instructions

Oh come on, that's just marketing nonsense people use to sound smart. I've been microwaving popcorn for YEARS and I never let it sit. I rip that bag open IMMEDIATELY the second the popping slows down and my popcorn turns out PERFECT every single time. The REAL missing step is shaking the bag halfway through the cook cycle so the unpopped kernels fall to the bottom. If your popcorn is chewy it's because you OVERCOOKED it and burnt the outside, not because of some magical steam "resting" period.
