Lol "show me your actual work" is exactly what someone said to me too. I spent like 3 months sending out these fancy paper portfolios for video editing gigs and got nothing. A friend finally told me nobody cares about printed stuff anymore, they want to see you can actually do the job. So I threw together a quick website with some clips and got a callback within a week. It's wild how much it matters. People just wanna see proof.

Yeah I had the same thing happen at a hammer-in last year, guy named Dave did a whole demo with just clean mild steel and a good orange heat and it stuck perfect.
