That $180 knee kicker upgrade was worth every penny
Been using the same beat up knee kicker for like 8 years, figured it was fine. Finally bit the bullet last month and got a new one with a padded brace and better adjustment. First job in a townhouse in Arlington went so much smoother, no more bruised knee by lunch. The old one would slip on hard floors and I always had to redo the first few rows. This new one grips way better and the cushion actually stays put. Still getting used to the extra weight but honestly my knee feels less beat up after a full day. Anyone else put off upgrading basic tools way longer than they should have?

Man, I hear you loud and clear. I saw a contractor on YouTube last week say the same thing about his knee kicker, and it made me realize how much time I waste on tool upgrades. I finally replaced my old nail gun after six years of jams and misfires, and the difference is night and day. It’s funny how we get used to crappy tools just because they’re familiar, but then one good job makes you wonder why you waited so long. That extra weight is a tradeoff, but I bet your knee’s thanking you by Friday.
