My CNC dust collection died mid-run last Friday, now I'm on a one-way trip to filter city
The rubber gasket on my 4-inch port rotted out after 2 years and the shop filled with MDF dust so fast I couldn't see the vacuum gauge, so if you use a cyclone setup, check that seal every 6 months like your lungs depend on it, anyone else had theirs fail at the worst possible time?

Actually, a rubber gasket that rots out in 2 years usually means it was a cheap EPDM blend, not real neoprene. The good ones last 5 to 7 years easy if you wipe them down with a damp cloth now and then. But yeah, checking it every 6 months is smart, especially before summer when the heat dries them out faster. Just had a buddy lose his whole Saturday to the same kind of failure on his table saw hookup. You run a pre-filter on your cyclone, or is that just the main filter getting hammered?
