Wasted $80 on a cheap trimmer that died in two weeks

I picked up a no-name cordless trimmer off Amazon for $80 thinking I was saving money. The motor started smoking on the third fade I tried to do. I should have just stuck with my old Wahl instead of chasing a deal. Anyone else get burned by these off-brand clippers?

Had to pick between a $400 offset smoker and a $30 kettle grill for my first comp.

It made me realize how much variety is out there now, way more than when I was a kid and it was just fries or onion rings. The app shows I've tried stuff from 27 different chains.
