Bought a $50 refurbished router off Craigslist last month and it's been faster than my Comcast one for 3 years straight.
Picked it up from a guy in Denver who said he was a network engineer, and now I'm wondering if I should just buy used networking gear from random strangers instead of paying retail for everything, has anyone else had good luck with secondhand electronics?

Nah, you're probably fine. Tbh most refurbished gear is just as good as new.
