inStopped by the old comic shop in Akron and it was just empty shelves
Empty shelves just mean the business model is changing, not dying. A lot of those back issues are online now, often for less money and without the drive. Maybe a ghost town vibe is better than a shop crammed with stuff nobody buys anymore. Why chase the old feeling when the new way gets you the comic faster?

inMy pack weight was a total mess until I saw a photo from my trip
Totally, finley_craig53. That kind of shot is what you hope for every time you pull out your phone. Makes the whole thing worth it.

inI compared our town's old streetlights to the new LED ones they installed last fall
Those lights are just a bit brighter... it's not like they changed the whole sky.

inHot take: I saw a guy's brisket go from dry to amazing in one season
Seriously! Everything feels like it takes way longer than it should these days.

inRant: A ceiling collapse in a Tucson hotel taught me to always check the framing first
Checking the framing every single time seems like overkill. Most jobs the wood is fine. You just had bad luck with that one leak. Bosses push schedules because time is money, that's the whole job. Sometimes you just have to trust the last crew did their work right.
