Stopped by the old comic shop in Akron and it was just empty shelves
Went in looking for back issues and the whole wall was bare, just a few new releases. Felt like a ghost town compared to the packed racks from ten years ago. Does anyone still have a good local shop that feels like it used to?

Empty shelves just mean the business model is changing, not dying. A lot of those back issues are online now, often for less money and without the drive. Maybe a ghost town vibe is better than a shop crammed with stuff nobody buys anymore. Why chase the old feeling when the new way gets you the comic faster?

Yeah, that "ghost town" feeling is real. I've had luck asking the owner to order specific back issues for me, they often have connections. It keeps them going and you get what you want.
