I used to think pineapple on pizza was fine, but a trip to Naples changed my mind completely.
I was in a small pizzeria near the Spanish Steps last year and saw a tourist ask for it. The owner just shook his head and said, 'This is not a fruit salad.' It made me realize I was treating pizza like a blank canvas for any topping, not respecting what the dish actually is. Anyone else have a food combo they defended until a specific moment made you rethink it?

Honestly that "blank canvas" thing hits home. I used to put ketchup on scrambled eggs until my roommate looked at my plate like I committed a crime. Tbh I haven't done it since.

That crime look seems a bit much for some ketchup.

Wait, you were putting ketchup on scrambled eggs? That's wild to me. I can see a little hot sauce maybe, but ketchup? It's so sweet and vinegary. It just sounds like it would make the eggs all soggy and weird. My dad used to do that and I never understood it.
