inWarning: The 3M Perfect-It compound I swore by for years just failed me on a black car
Happens with everything from car polish to phone chargers. Companies change formulas or materials on us and don't say a word. Makes you wonder what else you trust that's not the same anymore.

inI thought VPNs were overkill until last week
Remember how Wade's friend had that baby monitor issue? It made me check my own setup. I found my old smart thermostat was still on the factory password from three years ago. That's a back door right into the network. It's not just about phones, it's about every little gadget we forget even connects to wifi.

inUnpopular opinion: I used to skip food biz mixers, but a chance chat over coffee changed everything.
Forget the main event at those things. Show up early or hang back late. That's when people actually talk. I got my current gig because the guy next to me at the bar was complaining about a broken fryer. We fixed it with a paperclip, I told him about a better part, and he hired me a week later. The planned speeches are just noise.

inWent to fix a flickering light and found a squirrel's nest in the electrical panel.
Yeah, that's a solid point from @sarahj44... I learned a similar lesson trying to change a light switch without flipping the breaker. Let's just say I got a free, very loud alarm clock for a second. Always cut the main power, even if it seems like a small job.

inCaught an old episode of 'BBQ Pitmasters' from 2010 on TV last night
Man, that show takes me back. My neighbor still runs an ancient offset that looks like a rusty train car, and the smell from his yard on a Saturday morning is just different. There's something about that all night fire watching that you just can't get from a set-it-and-forget-it cook. Totally get missing the work even when you've got the easy button sitting right there.
