I thought VPNs were overkill until last week

I mean, I always figured my home wifi was safe enough for browsing. But after reading how easy it is for snoops to grab data on public networks, I got one for my phone. Do you guys use VPNs regularly, or is it just for specific things?

But why just for your phone? You don't think your home network needs that extra layer too?

Know a friend whose baby monitor got hacked last year. Some creep was talking through it at night. Turns out their whole home network was weak because they only protected their phones. Had to reset every smart device in the house, it was a total mess. That showed me everything is connected now. If one thing is open, it's like leaving your front door unlocked.

Remember how Wade's friend had that baby monitor issue? It made me check my own setup. I found my old smart thermostat was still on the factory password from three years ago. That's a back door right into the network. It's not just about phones, it's about every little gadget we forget even connects to wifi.
