Spent $80 on a compost bin and it's actually working (for once)
I've tried the whole 'pile in the corner of the yard' thing a few times and it just became a gross, smelly mess that attracted raccoons. So this spring, I finally bought a proper, closed compost bin for about eighty bucks. I was sure it was going to be another waste of money and space. But you know what? Having a real system made me actually follow the rules (browns, greens, turn it every week). Now, a few months in, I'm not sending nearly as much food waste to the landfill and I'm getting actual dirt for my garden. It feels good, but I also feel a little silly for how long I resisted spending the money on the right tool. Has anyone else had a simple purchase finally click and change a small habit for the better?
