inThe podcast I laughed at for months finally won me over
You got me on this one... I've got a different take though. True crime podcasts rub me the wrong way, honestly. They turn real people's worst days into entertainment, and the families have to watch strangers pick apart every detail for fun. The 1972 case you mentioned I know about too, and I remember when that happened, it was all over the news. Your daughter probably means well, but it feels weird to laugh at something that's about someone's missing relative. Not judging you, just... I don't think I could ever get into that stuff myself. Let the sleeping dogs lie, you know.

inA foreman in Denver told me my floor prep was costing the painters extra time.
Holding out a 2x4 for a guy to cut is one thing, but running a non-HEPA vac on drywall dust is a code violation on most commercial sites here in Phoenix. That foreman wasn't being a hero, he was covering his own ass. The real issue is the crew lead not knowing the spec in the first place. Switching vacs mid-job is good but it's a bandaid on a bigger problem with how that team bids their prep.

inShowerthought: Do we actually save time with CAM software or does it just shift the work around?
Is it really that big of a deal though? I mean, yeah, CAM can be a pain sometimes, but three hours versus 45 minutes is a stretch unless you're doing something super simple like a single contour. I've seen guys spend two hours hand coding a part, then another hour debugging a typo that crashes the machine. That's not really faster, just different.

inTalked to my neighbor about his 15 year old grill last weekend and it made me rethink buying new stuff
You ever try just cleaning the burners with a wire brush?

inRant: That Saturday in Phoenix when my whole shed roof collapsed
Man, that sucks! I feel your pain. I did something similar once but with fence posts. Used galvanized brackets that didn't match the screws. Whole thing fell over during a windstorm. Looked like a giant Jenga game in my backyard. At least you caught it after 3 months and not 3 years like me. Heat does crazy things to cheap hardware out here.
