My neighbor's shed light has been on for 11 nights straight and it's driving me nuts
My neighbor put up one of those LED floodlights on his shed last month and it shines right into my kitchen window. I timed it, the thing stays on from about 6pm until 6am, every single night. I brought it up with him last Tuesday and he shrugged and said it's a security thing, which I get, but my yard is now lit up like a parking lot at midnight. I don't want to be the grumpy guy on the block but I also can't keep eating dinner with a spotlight in my eyes. Has anyone dealt with this and found a fix that doesn't turn into a whole neighborhood feud? I was thinking of offering to split the cost of a motion sensor version, but I'm not sure that's my place.
Honestly 11 nights in a row of a flood light blazing through your kitchen window sounds annoying but maybe not the huge deal you're making it. Have you tried blackout curtains? A $30 pair would fix the dinner thing in one night. Talking to him about a motion sensor is fine, but going in assuming he'll split the cost is a stretch since it's his shed and his light. Pick your battles, this one has an easy workaround on your end.
