My neighbor said my lawn was stressing him out

What about those little plastic tags from bread bags? You know, the twist ties always break, so they use those hard plastic clips now. I find them everywhere, on the counter, in the sink, even on the floor. They're like tiny, colorful landmines of annoyance. I totally get @willow_martin's thing with the flashing light, it's that same kind of small, constant poke. My wife just leaves them out and it drives me up the wall every single morning.

Our club read 'The Road' and 'Station Eleven' back to back and the second one just hit different

I used to avoid fantasy books because I thought they were all silly elves and boring quests. Then a friend made me read "The Fifth Season" by N.K. Jemisin. The world building was so smart and the characters felt painfully real. It completely flipped my view of what the genre could do. Now I seek out fantasy that uses its setting to explore big, human ideas.

Update: I gave up on using a heat gun for every single board reflow job

Oh man, I feel this! I melted a perfectly good Xbox 360 HDMI port right off the board with my old heat gun. The air flow was just way too wild. Grabbed a cheap station too and it's a total game changer for those tiny capacitors.

My uncle told me to skip the smart thermostat and just turn the heat down at night

Right? @west.wendy, receipts don't lie.

My old boss always swore by a specific trick for those Samsung washer drain pumps

Hold up, let's be real here. That tap isn't just a band-aid, it's a legit diagnostic tool. Sometimes the motor's brushes just stick, and a good jolt frees them up for years. I've seen units run fine for another two or three years after that. Calling it a temporary fix every time is like saying a jump start means your battery is dead forever. If it works, you fixed it. Simple as that.
