Just hit my first month of a full vegan diet for the climate
I used to eat meat with almost every meal, but after seeing a report on how much water beef uses, I switched cold turkey last month. It was tough at first, but finding a good tofu scramble recipe from a blog in Austin really helped me stick with it. What's one small food swap that made a big difference for you?

Look, I get the good intent, but that report is missing the bigger picture. Industrial farming for your tofu and veggies causes huge damage too, it just gets shipped from further away. My swap was to local grass fed beef from a farm I know, cuts the real waste down more than any label.

Wait, hold on. So you're saying your local beef has a smaller footprint than my tofu shipped from somewhere else. But what about the land and water just to grow the feed for that cow? That farm you know, how many acres does it need to feed one cow compared to growing soy on the same land? I'm trying to see the real math here.
