Split on using manufacturer wiring diagrams vs just tracing the circuit yourself after a bad call in St. Louis

Hold on, I gotta push back a little here. Isn't relying on your meter and just poking around the harness kind of a gamble in itself? You might fix the symptom but miss the real cause, like a failing relay or a bad splice that'll pop up again in a month. Factory diagrams might be outdated, but at least they give you a starting point to cross-reference, even if they're wrong. I've seen guys follow their gut and end up creating more problems than they solved, especially in those older buildings where the rats have rearranged everything.

Swapped from paper blueprints to tablet plans on a big build in Denver last year

Yeah but are you running a high brightness setting all day with the screen on? That kills my battery by 1 or 2 PM. I have to bring a backup battery pack and charge it during lunch. What kind of battery life are you actually getting on a full 10 hour day?

Warning: I hit 200 dives last week and realized something scary about my gauges

Have you ever looked at your gear and just felt like you were playing a game of darts blindfolded? I swear, my pressure gauge might as well have a mind of its own. I once had a buddy tell me his gauge was off by 40 PSI and he didn't even realize it until he swapped tanks on a shallow wreck dive. Made me wonder if I've been holding my breath wrong for years or something. At this rate, I'm half convinced my gauges are just there for decoration.

The Lego Millennium Falcon I got for Christmas 1999 still holds up

Six hundred and fifty bucks in 1999 money though, right? How much did your parents drop on that thing back then?

Warning: Took me 5 hours to find a bad ground on a Garmin GNS 430

Honestly, I gotta push back a little. Yeah, chasing a bad ground is annoying, but I'd take that over chasing a software glitch any day. At least with a ground issue you can bust out a multimeter and trace it back with some basic logic. Took me three hours once on a King unit only to find a wire that looked fine but was broken inside the insulation. Ngl, that's just part of the gig-stuff fails, and we find it. Simple doesn't always mean quick.
