Book clubs can turn into battlefields over the smallest things. Choosing a whole genre leaves way too much room for argument. People get attached to their favorite styles and take it as a personal attack. It's amazing how a plan meant to be more open can cause more fights. I'm not surprised it got heated at all.

Ugh, that's a brutal surprise. My backup is the Sinkyone Wilderness section further south, it's first-come first-serve and way quieter. Check out Needle Rock visitor center, you can often just roll up and get a spot for the next day if you're flexible.

Congrats on hitting that goal... that's a real win. I know that feeling of walking past something small every day and it adding up to something big. Does it make you second guess other small spending now, like grabbing coffee out or something? Feels like once you see how much those little things add up, it changes your whole view on money.
