At a family cookout, I saw my uncle writing his passwords on a sticky note next to the fridge. Had to have that awkward chat.

Ugh, it's way worse than you'd think. Burglars look for exactly that kind of lazy info. A sticky note is like a welcome sign for them. Plus, repair people, cleaners, or even a friend's sketchy partner comes over all the time. It takes one person seeing it and telling the wrong guy. My cousin's neighbor got cleaned out because the dog walker saw a wifi password and guessed the rest. It's just not worth the risk.

Found my old Settlers of Catan box from college and the pieces were still sorted by color.

Remember how the box smelled like old dorm room and cheap pizza? Opening mine was like a punch in the gut, all those plans we made between turns. We weren't just moving sheep, we were building a whole afternoon together. Now everyone checks their phone between rounds, chasing that quick win, and it just feels like we lost the plot.

My string line was off by a full brick for a whole wall

Just eyeball it" seems like a bad plan though.

Just realized my torn pocket sparked a whole patchwork trend

Totally get what you mean, @nina_bennett. My favorite jeans have this huge bleach stain down one leg from a cleaning mishap. I was so mad at first, but now I wouldn't trade them. It's like each weird mark tells a story you didn't plan. That duct tape fix on your boots probably gives them way more character than they had before. Makes me wonder what the next "happy accident" will be for both of us.

A split in my tongs made me rethink skipping tempering

That exact mindset cost me a good chisel last year. Watching it snap taught me real fast why that extra step matters. Hard lesson, but it sticks with you.
