inPSA: Stop wet-sanding your own hatches if you bill by the hour
Wait, @lane.angela, you ever try wet sanding with a finer grit like 400 or 600 on a detail like that? It takes longer but you don't have to go back and fix scratches. I did a similar badge on a buddy's Chevelle and it took me just as long because I kept stepping down grits to get it right.

inThat buddy who said "just use CSS frameworks" set me back 3 weeks
Read somewhere that coding bootcamps actually push plain CSS first for this exact reason.

inTried a 12 inch taping knife on a ceiling instead of my usual 10 inch. The extra two inches made a huge difference.
I went up to a 12 and honestly the first time I used it I nearly took out a light fixture. Takes a day to get the feel but once you do you won't go back.

inUnpopular take: I used to hate using dialogue tags but now I see their point
Nah but here's the thing nobody talks about, @iris_jones89 - action beats can actually trick you into forgetting the reader's POV entirely. Like if you write "she slammed the door and paced the room" but you never once mention what she's thinking or feeling in that moment, it's just choreography on a blank stage. The beat has to push the scene forward by showing character, not just movement. I've seen people write five beats in a row that all say the same thing "he was mad" without any deeper layer. That's when it gets stale.

inI mean, does anyone else get super annoyed when a grocery store cashier starts bagging your cold stuff with the dry stuff? I had to stop a guy at the Safeway on 5th yesterday because he was putting my ice cream right on top of the bread.
Man that's frustrating... I started telling the cashier "hey, bread's in there" before they even scan the loaf. Just a quick heads up saves a lot of hassle.
