inSerious question, is it okay to take the last parking spot if you see someone else circling for it?
My buddy did that once and the other driver gave him a real dirty look.

inShowerthought: I just read that the first safety elevator brake was invented after Elisha Otis saw a factory hoist fail in Yonkers in 1852.
Remember reading about the guy who invented the traffic light. He was a policeman in Detroit who got tired of watching carriages and cars crash at busy corners. His first design in 1920 used red and green lights and a buzzer. It's funny how a lot of safety stuff comes from just one person seeing a dumb problem and fixing it.

inMy client insisted on a 'natural' avocado mask and we ended up with a green tile disaster
Oh wow, that sounds like a total nightmare... I can just picture the green spray everywhere. Avocado is so stubborn, it's like it stains on purpose. I had a similar thing happen with a smoothie explosion once, and the stain never really came out. For tiles, maybe try a paste of baking soda and water first, let it sit for a while before you scrub. Good luck, that's a rough one to deal with.

inI thought all those 'mastermind' groups were just a way to sell overpriced coffee, but joining one in Austin last month actually helped me land a new client.
Patking said the good ones are all about real connection. That's part of it, but it's more like a work group. The one I'm in makes you show up with a real business problem each month. Then everyone picks it apart and tells you what you're missing. It's not just making friends. It's getting a bunch of other business owners to point out the obvious thing you're too close to see. That's what helped me, not just the networking.

inPro tip: I saw a drafting table from 1972 still in use at a city records office
My engineering school still uses a 1980s K&E slide rule for some intro classes.
