Totally applies to those cheap aftermarket tools too, saving a few bucks upfront just to chase burrs and bad connections later.

Did you try using Gmail's plus trick? I do that for all my store accounts now. Just add +kroger to your regular email address before the @ sign. Like yourname+kroger@gmail.com. The store sees it as a unique email but everything still lands in your main inbox. I can filter those into a separate folder if they start getting spammy. Been working for me for like 2 years now with no coupon problems or account lockouts. Way simpler than managing a whole separate login.

Digital coupons are the way to go now, no binder needed. Just set a goal of saving $10 a week with grocery app deals and you'll be surprised how fast it adds up.

My uncle used to grease everything on his old Honda Civic back in the 90s, even the door hinges, and he swore by it until the day he lost a brake caliper bolt on the freeway. That's a scary story but it stuck with me. I figure a little grease goes a long way on things like pedal threads and bottom brackets where you know water gets trapped, but for rack mounts and seatpost clamps I'd rather use a dab of anti-seize or just keep them dry. Your mileage may vary of course, but I've had too many bolts back out on aluminum frames to trust a full grease job everywhere. The customer sounds like he knows what he's seen in that SLC salt, so maybe meet him halfway and explain your reasoning with a story of your own.
