My buddy made me rethink whether Firefly actually needed more seasons

Binge watched the whole thing last month and honestly the pacing was perfect as is. The slow burn of the mystery and the character building needed space to breathe. Adding more seasons would've just padded it with filler episodes about random planets nobody cares about.

Waiting for the big payoff from that slow burn was kinda boring though.

But what makes it boring is that the payoff basically gets spelled out way too early (like the show tips its hand) so you're just waiting for everyone else to catch up. The slow burn works better when you're genuinely unsure where things are headed, not just counting down to a reveal you already guessed in episode three. That kind of tension ruins the whole setup, makes the waiting feel pointless even if the final payoff is good.
