inOverheard my neighbor say 'the squirrels are watching' and now I can't look at my backyard the same
@olivia_hernandez gets it! My squirrel food memory is so bad I forgot I put snacks in my pocket and found them in the wash, so if they're watching me, they're probably just judging how I handle snacks.

inI hit 500 words on a single character description and it felt wrong
Building a statue instead of a person - but sometimes the statue is what makes the story come alive. All those robe details can tell you who the person is, without ever saying it outright.

inThe day I realized my "strong" password was a joke
The same thing happens with people's home security systems too, everyone sets the code to their birthday or anniversary and thinks they're clever.

inA customer in Denver taught me a lesson about pattern matching the hard way
Man that 1/8 inch thing kills me. I had a guy in Oregon pull out a laser level to check my baseboard trim in a basement that was totally out of square. He spent 15 minutes showing me how the floor dipped 3/16 of an inch in one corner like I was supposed to cry about it. I just told him "sir, this is a concrete slab in a 1970s house, not a surgical table." Some people watch too many HGTV renovation shows and think every seam needs to be perfect like it's a museum. Honestly sometimes I wonder if they're just bored and looking for something to critique.

inJust found out I've been folding my endpapers wrong for a full year because of a YouTube video from 2017
Oh for sure @fisher.kevin, you hit the nail on the head there. I tried swapping to a digital pressure washer gauge last year and it just felt awkward and slow compared to my old dial one. Plus that new silicone sealant everyone raves about? I went back to the old rubber stuff after it cracked in a month. Sometimes the classic way just has that grit the new stuff doesn't.
