It's scary how common this is getting. @hugobarnes is right about those fake pages looking real. I see the same basic trick everywhere now, not just with games. Fake texts about a package or a bank alert. They just make people panic and click. It feels like we all need to be on guard all the time, even for stuff that seems small. The advice from the IT guy is the only safe bet, go to the site yourself every single time.
