Question about using real people's names in fiction prompts

My neighbor Bill wrote a book where a character named Phil was a total creep, and you know what? I know three Phils, not one of them got mad. Here's the thing - names like David or Sarah are so common that your neighbor would have to be a narcissist to think a story about a random David is about him. Last year I had a student named David and another one in a different class, nobody batted an eye. If you're really worried, slap a last name on there or pick a name that's not remotely close. Honestly, people who get weird about this need to get a life and stop making everything about themselves.

Found a $20 bill in a parking lot and kept it without asking around

$500 in cash sitting on a Target shelf, you really think the guy stocking toothpaste is gonna run after you? Nah, he's probably already mentally spending that on takeout. I once found a wallet in a Walmart parking lot with like 40 bucks in it, turned it in, and the lady at customer service gave me this look like "you're an idiot for even bringing this here." Probably tossed it in the break room for someone to "misplace" later. So yeah, you're making the right call. Finders keepers, especially when the store's just gonna pocket it themselves.

Just realized we've used exactly 1,000 porta-potties across our projects this year

That "city block of them" line got me thinking, now I can't shake the image of them all lined up like some bizarre parade float. Last year we hit 500 on a single site and I had the same weird moment, just stared at the spreadsheet like it was a piece of art.

I think the Chick-fil-A sandwich is way overrated

Fifteen minutes is my absolute limit for any drive thru. I started parking and walking in when I see the line past the menu board. It cuts the wait in half most times. For the dry chicken issue, I started ordering the grilled version with extra sauce on the side. Even if it's overcooked, the sauce masks it well enough. The lemonade though, that's always consistent.

TIL my French press was brewing wrong for 3 years straight

Oh man, that papery taste thing is wild. Honestly I bet half the weird flavors in our coffee come from stuff we never think about. Like I keep my beans in a cabinet that's right next to the stove and turns out the heat from cooking was slowly roasting them again every time I made dinner. Swapped to a dark pantry drawer and the difference was crazy. Also had a buddy who swore his water was fine but turns out his fridge filter was way overdue and the coffee tasted like old plastic. Once he changed it out his whole brew game changed overnight.
