Same thing happened with my pork shoulder.

inNoticed a lot more people asking about beginner kits at the library craft fair last week
Looking for a new hobby" feels like a really nice way to put it, wade_lewis. Some of this just looks like people buying stuff to feel better, not to actually learn a skill. I saw a guy with a thousand dollars worth of untouched woodworking tools he bought during lockdown.

inHonestly, I've seen three different crews in my town try to prune a live oak in the middle of summer and it's painful to watch.
My cousin had a crew come through last spring that charged him $400 to "shape" his oak. It looked like a kid took a hatchet to it. I bet @alex_taylor10 is right, they probably added a "hazard pay" fee for the bugs they invited to the party.

Truer words never spoken... it's always the tiny leak that sinks the ship. Pay now or pay double later.

inI was stuck deciding whether to use a drone for a site survey or just stick with the old total station for a 5-acre plot in Phoenix.
Yeah, that's the move right there. We did a similar thing on a big lot clearing job, swapped out hand sketches for a basic mapping app on a tablet. What used to take a morning of walking and guessing became a ten minute job of marking waypoints. The time you get back is just crazy.
