Question about the way people pronounce 'gif' in my office

I mean, I know it's a dumb thing to fixate on, but at my job in Austin, like six people keep saying 'jif' with a soft G. It matters because we work on a design team and it's a file format we use every single day. I keep wanting to correct them but idk, maybe it's just me being weird about it. Has anyone else had to deal with a small thing like this driving them nuts?

Oh come on, it's the little things that build up. You let "gif" slide, next you're saying "expresso" and "nucular." It's a slippery slope. Before you know it, the whole language is just mush.
