Automatic updates can sometimes break things in ways people don't expect. I've seen folks get locked out of important old programs because an update changed how they work with the system. It creates this weird choice between being open to new holes or breaking your own workflow. The real trick is staying informed on what the updates actually fix, not just blindly turning them all on.

How do bosses not see the risk in skipping tests? I mean, pushing updates without a dry run is asking for trouble. Idk, maybe it's just me but that zero reading while loaded is scary as hell. People could get hurt real bad from that kind of mistake. We always test our gear after any update, no exceptions. Rushing things just to save time isn't worth the danger.
