Just realized I bought a $400 drafting table light that was a total waste.

Honestly calling all LEDs brutal is a huge stretch. The cheap warm bulb you use is probably an LED too, just a different color. The bright white ones are way better for actually seeing what you're doing, like reading or working on stuff. Tbh my eyes got used to them after a week and now anything else feels too dim.

My chocolate cake turned into a puddle at a birthday party

Oh man, that mental image of the frosting slowly sliding off is both tragic and kind of funny! Your freezer save was a total panic move, but hey, a weird textured cake is better than a chocolate puddle on the counter. I had a pie turn to soup once at a picnic because I left it in the car for ten minutes. Now I treat desserts like they're made of ice in the summer. A cooler bag is definitely the way to go.

Yeah, those little shops are the worst.

Caught a tech at a local shop using a grinder on a quarter panel with no heat control

Look, sometimes you just need to get the work done. That fender isn't going to fix itself, and a grinder is the fastest way to knock down that filler. I've seen guys spray a little water on it between passes and it turns out fine. People worry too much about perfect metal. Most of it gets covered in bondo and paint anyway. If it warps a little, you can just hammer and dolly it back.

Ran a split test on two ad copy styles for a local plumbing client

Totally makes sense. We saw the same thing with a garage door company. Their old ads were all "SPRING BROKEN? PANIC!" and they got garbage leads, just tire-kickers wanting a price. We switched to a photo of a super tidy truck and a guy in a clean uniform, with a line about same-day service. The calls dropped a bit at first, but the quality was night and day. People calling were basically ready to book, not just asking twenty questions. Selling the calm fix works way better than selling the scary problem.
