inFinally got that stubborn flap actuator seal to seat on a 172
Honestly, did you try any lube on it or just the hot water?

inI saw a tweet that said 'Firefly got 14 episodes, some shows get 100 and still suck'
Totally feel that, still mad about The OA.

inWarning: I compared a $30 shears from a beauty supply store to my $200 professional pair on a client's blunt cut
Actually, sharpening can only fix a dull edge, not bad steel. The cheap knives are often made from softer metal that just won't hold an edge, no matter how well you sharpen it. You'll get it sharp for a day or two, then it's right back to being useless. It's more about the quality of the material than the angle on your stone. So you can try, but you're just putting a bandage on a bigger problem.

inUpdate: I've been making my coffee wrong for months
Sounds like a great way to ruin your coffee maker.

inRant: Everyone says to always replace the whole dryer drum assembly, but after a job in St. Louis where I just swapped the worn rear bearing for $15, I saved the customer over $300.
Oh man, @hollym82, you're totally right about those pumps. I've saved so many dishwashers just by cleaning out the little filter basket at the bottom that gets clogged. They'll tell you the whole motor is shot. Same with fridge icemakers, the plastic gear that drives the auger strips out. You can find the gear kit online for like twelve bucks instead of buying a whole new unit for hundreds.
