Debate time: I used to do a straight razor shave with a full 4-pass routine on every client who asked. After a guy in my chair last month said he gets ingrowns from too many passes, I switched to a single, super precise pass with the grain for sensitive skin. My old mentor says I'm cutting corners, but my clients with tough skin are happier. Which side are you on, the full traditional service or tailoring the technique to the skin?

My old Polaris' throttle cable snapped clean through at the trailhead near Eagle River last Saturday, leaving me to rig a temporary fix with some spare paracord from my pack just to get back to the truck.

What's the best permanent replacement cable brand you guys trust for these older models?

My digital portrait hit 500 likes on Instagram and I'm honestly shocked

I posted a portrait I made in Procreate last Tuesday, just a simple study of my friend under cafe lights. It's not my usual style at all, more loose and sketchy. I woke up the next morning and it had blown up past 500 likes, which is HUGE for my tiny account. It really made me realize people connect with the messy, personal stuff way more than my polished portfolio pieces. Has anyone else had a piece take off that you almost didn't even post?

My old boss in Chicago said to never take a counteroffer, and he was right

I got a job offer for 15k more and my current company matched it to keep me. I stayed, but six months later they let me go anyway during a round of cuts. Felt like they just bought time to replace me. Anyone else get burned by a counteroffer like that?

I finally got that old pressure valve on the boiler at the old mill to seal right

Yeah, the "online noise" thing is so real. It's like how flat earth stuff seemed everywhere for a minute, but it's a tiny fraction of people who actually believe it. The loudest voices just get all the attention, especially on social media. I've seen the same thing with other old conspiracies, like who really shot JFK. You hear about the doubters constantly, but most people just accept the basic story. It makes you question what else we're overestimating because a few people won't stop yelling about it.
