inSerious question, did you know the original print run of Glory to Rome was only 1500 copies?
Found a copy at a yard sale years ago, paid five bucks for it. Just had to dig through a moldy box of old paperbacks. Sometimes the weird places are where the good stuff hides.

inHad a weird chatter issue on a 4140 part three days ago
Actually, slowing feed usually makes chatter worse.

inSpent $60 on a 'privacy' browser extension that basically just sold my data to itself
Wait, they own the data broker too? That's like paying a security guard who also runs the burglary ring. So your sixty bucks basically just moved your data to a different folder in their own office. What even is the point of that? It's not a privacy tool, it's a data collection tool with extra steps.

inMy friend who fixes watches said our jobs are basically the same, but I'm not so sure.
Oh totally, I get what your friend means about the tiny tools and patience! I used to fix old film cameras and those little screwdrivers and tweezers felt just like watchmaking. But you're right, the second you open a modern digital body it's a whole new world. Trying to line up a sensor or mess with a circuit board is more like computer repair than watchmaking.

inGot a call for a 'haunted' dryer in a house near the old mill road
Animals getting into electronics" always sounded fake to me too, but that spider story is pretty convincing.
