Read that a single packet of active dry yeast has about 150 billion cells, and I just stared at my jar for a minute
Saw that number in an old baking science article from King Arthur while I was killing time during a batch of rolls, and it made me think about how my grandma just used whatever cake of yeast she had and never measured a thing. Does anyone here actually count cells or weigh yeast, or are we all just eyeballing it like her?
