I paid a guy $800 to cut a tile niche into my shower wall in Portland and he made it crooked. Like visibly off, water pools in the corner bad. I ended up ripping it out myself and buying a prefab one for $60 at Home Depot. Has anyone else gotten burned by a fancy custom detail that just wasnt worth it?
I dropped $800 on blown-in cellulose for my attic last fall, and my heating bills dropped like 30%. But my buddy did rigid foam panels in his basement for the same cash and says he's saving even more. Problem is the foam panels were a beast to install with all the cutting and sealing gaps. I'm wondering if the extra labor is worth the bump in performance. Has anyone else gone back and forth on these two options?
I painted my oak cabinets in Portland without using a bonding primer first, and the paint started peeling off near the sink within a week. Took me another weekend to sand everything down and start over with Zinsser BIN shellac primer - has anyone else dealt with this on older cabinets?
Trying to decide where to buy my new backyard storage shed. Both Duramax Sheds Online and Dura Sheds seem to carry the exact model I'm looking for. Has anyone compared these two stores or ordered from either of them?
