Just realized how bad our plastic waste is at the salon
So, I was taking out the trash yesterday and almost tripped over a bag full of empty product bottles. It hit me that we're basically creating a mini landfill every week. I brought it up at our team meeting, and everyone was kinda shocked too. We started looking into refill options, but man, some of those systems are pricey. We did find a brand that lets you send back containers for recycling, which is cool. But now we're debating if the people who come in will care or if it's just extra work. What do you all think? Have any of you gone green with your product packaging? Share your stories, even the messy ones!

Oh wow, nothing says "we care about beauty" like a weekly mountain of trash. It's kinda funny when you think about making people look good while making the planet look bad. Maybe start with the recycling program and see if clients notice.

Seriously, every business has some waste and it's not like salons are the worst offenders here. They use small things like foil packets and cotton balls, not factory levels of trash. It's a bit much to act like this is the big environmental problem we should fix first.

My cousin works at a chain salon and they fill two big trash bags just from color packets and foil every single day. That's over 700 bags a year from one location, and how many salons are in every city? It adds up way faster than people realize. When you see the sheer number of these places, all that small waste becomes a huge pile. So maybe it's not a factory, but it's a constant stream that never stops.
