I saw a guy at a startup mixer in Austin last month swap cards with 30 people but never emailed a single one. Two weeks later, I followed up with just 5 contacts from that same event and landed a solid referral that led to a $3,000 deal. Actually that referral came from an old client I hadn't talked to in months.
