Hit 50 connections last month and it backfired hard

Got too many leads coming in at once from a networking event in Austin. Now I'm drowning in follow-ups and losing track of who promised what.

Oh man I feel this. It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of a good event and say yes to everything. Maybe try a simple spreadsheet with names and what they promised, check it once a day.

You know, that spreadsheet idea reminds me of something my wife tried with her garden club last summer. They had this big plant swap planned, and everyone kept promising cuttings and pots left and right. She thought a simple list would keep it straight too. But then she got busy and forgot to update it after a few days, and suddenly two people showed up with the same type of fern. It was a mess. So I'd say, if you go the spreadsheet route, make sure you check it every single morning and evening. That little bit of discipline can save you a whole lot of headache later on.
