That person who said "Dead Like Me" deserved its movie ending was totally wrong

My buddy Mark swore the 2009 movie wrapped up the show perfectly, but I just rewatched the series and that movie felt rushed and threw away all the character growth. Does anyone else think they should have just left it as the two seasons we had?

Wait, did Robert's sister seriously not see the problem? I mean, how do you watch George go from totally checked out in season 1 to actually crying at a funeral in season 2 and think "yep, let's erase all that"? (My brain still hurts just thinking about it.)

Wait, did they seriously think that movie did the show justice? My sister swore by it too, but I watched it last week and George's entire arc just got tossed out the window. She spent two seasons learning to care about people again, then the movie turns her into this detached grim reaper who barely seems to give a damn. Felt like the writers just wanted to cash in on a quick ending without respecting what made the show good in the first place.

George's entire arc just got tossed out the window" yeah that sums it up perfectly. It's like in real life when someone puts in years of work at a company only for new management to come in and undo everything they built just to save a few bucks. The writers probably thought nobody would notice or care, but that kind of cheap shortcut always shows.
