Everybody forgets that Deadwood got canceled for a movie that took 13 years
I keep seeing people say Deadwood ended on a cliffhanger but the real tragedy is we never got the third season we were promised before they wrapped it up in a movie, lol. Does anyone else think the movie cheapened what could've been a legendary final season?

Honestly, the best way to look at it is like this - the movie was probably the only way we were ever going to get any kind of ending. I mean, HBO moved on, the cast got busy, and waiting 13 years meant you either take a rushed wrap-up or nothing at all. If I was a betting man, I'd say the prequel was never happening anyway, because the network seemed to lose interest in more Deadwood content after the movie dropped with just okay ratings.
