Dropped $75 on the complete 'Firefly' DVD set right after it got canceled, and honestly, it was worth every penny.

That's a perfect example of how a show's real legacy gets built. People buying the box set after it's gone kept the story alive for years. It's like the fans voted with their wallets long before streaming made revivals possible.

My Firefly box set got passed around my whole dorm floor. The discs were so scratched by senior year you had to skip the third episode.

Had a friend who bought the Buffy box set from a guy selling bootlegs out of his car. You could hear him coughing on some scenes. Still got passed around the whole floor.
