Just realized my identity got swiped in a data breach 8 months ago
I got a weird email from my bank last Tuesday about a login attempt from a city I've never visited. After digging through my credit report, I found out my info was part of that big breach back in January from a hotel booking site I used once. Took me 3 hours on the phone with the credit bureaus to freeze everything and file a report. My bank caught it early so nothing got charged to my accounts, but it still creeped me out. Now I'm running a free credit monitoring service and actually reading those privacy policy updates. Has anyone else had luck getting those data broker sites to actually delete your info?
