Thinking about how we used to scoff at the idea of desk exercises
Back when I started, staying glued to your chair was the norm, and aches were just part of the job. Now, I do a couple of shoulder rolls and leg stretches mid-morning, and it keeps the stiffness at bay. It's a simple shift that's made my workdays way more comfortable.

Notice how those small stretches also break up the mental monotony. I started setting a timer to stand and do a quick neck stretch, and it resets my focus better than another cup of coffee. It's not just about the body, it's a mini mental reset that makes the next task feel less heavy. We were wrong to laugh at it, because it's basically a free tool for both your brain and your back.

My shoulder rolls clear brain fog instantly.

Totally get what you mean about scoffing at desk exercises. I used to think they were pointless until I started doing wrist stretches every hour. Now my hands don't cramp up during long coding sessions. It's crazy how such small changes make a big difference.
