Brand guidelines used to be a simple PDF, now they're this whole complicated platform
I spent 3 hours last week trying to update a logo file on a cloud-based brand management tool and it completely crashed, losing all my changes. Has anyone else had to deal with these newfangled brand hubs that break more than they help?

The same thing happened to me with Frontify a few months back. Uploaded a new version of our secondary logo and the whole thing just froze. Had to rebuild the asset from scratch in Illustrator because the preview kept showing the old one. Maybe it's just me but these platforms feel way too complicated for what should be a simple file swap. My advice is to keep a local copy of everything on your desktop while you're working in the cloud platform. That way if it crashes you at least have the file ready to go again. Also take screenshots of your settings before you start editing because those reset sometimes too.

Maybe it's just me" - oh it's definitely not just you. I've had this exact nightmare with a brand portal where I uploaded a new favicon and it somehow turned our entire header image into a blurry mess. Had to re-export everything from scratch because the cache was haunted or something (I swear these platforms have gremlins living in them). Your screenshot advice is gold, I learned that the hard way when my color palette settings vanished into thin air. The whole "cloud means you can access it anywhere" thing is great until it randomly eats your work and you're left staring at the old logo like a fool.
