My stubborn refusal to watch the show (for years) finally ended last night.

The adaptation's changes made the book's themes clearer to me.

Took me forever to start it, but the show actually made the book click for me. Sometimes seeing it on screen just hits different, you know?

Yeah it works the other way too. I'll watch something then get the book to fill in the gaps. The details they cut out are always interesting.

Oh totally, @hugof77. I've seen that happen a lot. Some people just need that visual to make the story feel real before the words on the page make sense.
