Can we talk about how The Witcher season 3 butchered the books?
I spent $60 on all three Witcher game books to compare with the Netflix show. The show skipped whole plot lines from Blood of Elves and made up random stuff. I feel like I wasted my money on the books because the show barely follows them. Anyone else feel like the writers just ignored the source material?

Did you catch that interview where one of the writers admitted they didn't even read all the books? I read about it on Reddit and it explains so much. They basically took the names of characters and wrote their own story. The whole Eskel thing in season 2 was a warning sign for me, but season 3 just doubled down on ignoring plot lines. The Thanedd coup in the books is one of the best parts, and they turned it into a messy chase scene with random fire magic. I really wanted to love this show, but it feels like they're embarrassed to be adapting a fantasy book series. Why hire a team that doesn't respect the source material in the first place?

Yeah that writer thing was brutal to read. Guess I should be relieved they at least skimmed the Wikipedia summaries instead of just guessing the plot from the cover art. My bar for this show is so low now that I'm just happy when characters have the right hair color. Kind of like how I feel about my own life decisions honestly.
