Facing a mountain of metal waste from a recent boiler job.

My last job left me with a heap of metal scraps and old components. I'm aiming to handle it in a way that's better for the environment. Any tips on good recycling spots or methods for our trade?

A mountain of metal waste, huh? I mean, you could always start a modern art show with your boiler part sculpture. But honestly, dealing with that much scrap is such a headache after a job. I've found some scrap yards around here will take it if you sort the metals, which is a whole other chore. Maybe it's just me but it feels like they should make it easier for tradespeople to recycle, you know? It's good you want to handle it right, but the hassle sometimes makes you want to just ignore the pile. Idk, maybe call a few places first to see who actually wants the mix of metal you've got.

Actually seeing it all piled up changed my mind.

Yeah @the_tyler, that moment when the pile becomes a real thing hits different. It goes from just some parts to a full on metal monster in your yard. Holly's right about the sorting being a pain, but calling it modern art might be the best plan. Tell people it's a statement on consumer culture and charge admission. Honestly though, good on you for not just letting it sit there forever.
