My 8 year old niece asked me why I always use a thermometer on the ribs but not on myself when I'm sick.
She said it while I was checking the temp on a rack of St. Louis ribs last weekend, and now I can't stop thinking about how we obsess over 5 degrees for meat but just guess with our own bodies, lol.

Ever read that our sense of touch is actually pretty bad at judging internal temp? Makes you wonder why we trust it for a fever.

Actually used to think the back of the hand was pretty reliable, but @casey_lane73 makes a solid point about internal temp being different.
