Had an APU go down over Denver last Tuesday and I was dead wrong about the cause

I spent 45 minutes chasing a fuel control unit issue when it turned out to be a chafed wire in the harness behind the firewall, and now I always check the simple stuff first before diving into the expensive components - anyone else had a similar moment where the fix was way easier than you thought?

Was the chafe right where the harness passes through the firewall grommet?

Actually the chafe was on the loom itself (inside the cabin, not the grommet).
